Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna has told the Daily Record that the step up to the Championship hasn’t been as tough as he expected.
He also believes the appointment of Chris Hughton is an exciting one for the football club.
The 23-year-old checked in on Trentside in September, costing the Reds £3 million with the deal potentially rising to £6 million.

It’s still early days for McKenna in the East Midlands but the early prognosis is that the centre-back will prove an absolute steal.
The former Aberdeen player has played eight games for the Reds, scoring his first goal in last week’s 2-1 win over Coventry City.
Following his first couple of months at the club, he’s been discussing how he has found the standard of the second tier – and his new boss.
He told the Daily Record: “I was thrown straight in by the previous manager but it’s not as big a jump as I was expecting.
“I don’t think the game is as bad in Scotland as people make it out to be.
“Hughton’s track record of success in the Championship means it’s exciting for everyone at the club.
“Then we found out Steven Reid was coming in as well, which was great given that I work with him for Scotland.”
Progress
McKenna is set to head off on international duty with Scotland in pursuit of a place at next summer’s European Championships.
The youngster will hope to feature in the forthcoming three games against Serbia, Slovakia and Israel.

McKenna has taken to life in the Championship with aplomb and supporters have been delighted with his form.
There is absolutely more to come from the former Aberdeen player but the footer is showing he has what it takes to be a Forest regular for years to come.
