Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna won his 16th cap for Scotland yesterday afternoon as the Tartan Army were beaten 1-0 by Slovakia.
The 24-year-old has been a revelation for the Reds since arriving at the City Ground from Aberdeen during the summer.
He scored his first goal for Forest during a 2-1 win over Coventry City and has excelled alongside Tobias Figueiredo.

McKenna partnered Liam Cooper at centre-back in Steve Clarke’s team yesterday as Scotland’s nine-match unbeaten run evaporated.
His opportunity yesterday was the reward for some tremendous form at Forest, with supporters already warming to the left-footer.
Following yesterday’s result, McKenna did earn some praise from the Daily Record for his latest international showing.
Their player ratings piece claimed: “Didn’t give the Slovakian frontline much of a look in and won everything that came his way. Might gave been a tad deep for the goal but the deflections on the way were unfortunate.”
The Verdict – Forest look to have a gem in McKenna
It’s fair to suggest that the Scotland star is Forest’s best signing for some time.
Not just for his ability but the centre back seems to tick every single box.
He has showcased his defensive qualities already this season and now looks a mainstay in the Forest team.
At 24 there is plenty of time for McKenna to get even better too – a trait which should delight the club’s supporters.

He might not be considered a regular at international level just yet but it’s good to see him getting some game time in Clarke’s team.
At £3 million possibly rising to £6 million, McKenna already looks like a steal for Forest.
The hope will be that he continues to improve and becomes a City Ground mainstay for the foreseeable.
