Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton will face at least one selection dilemma this week involving Yuri Ribeiro and Nicholas Ioannou.
The Reds will welcome back Cyprus defender Ioannou after he served a three-match suspension for a sending off against Luton Town.
In his absence, Hughton has taken the opportunity to have a look at his squad depth.
Gaetan Bong was a surprise name in the starting eleven against Middlesbrough, much to the dismay of some fans.
During the wins against Coventry and Wycombe, Hughton called upon Ribeiro and that leads him to this weekend’s dilemma.
Quite simply, the Portuguese performer has shown enough in 18 months at the football club to justify keeping his place in the team.
Although he has looked a little rusty during his latest two outings, he has already shown what he is capable of whilst playing for Forest.
Losing out would perhaps be harsh on Ioannou. He has taken to life at the City Ground pretty well, although he has perhaps looks suspect when it comes to defending.
His rash challenge at Kenilworth Road has led to Hughton being presented with this situation, with Ribeiro currently in possession of the shirt.
Four of the back five have played in every game under the new manager and it’s clear that he feels continuity is key.
With that in mind, he should resist the temptation to put Ioannou straight back into the team this weekend.
The best man for the job
Ribeiro is a player who at 23-years-old should still improve and last season he was terrific.
In total he has played 35 times for the Reds and has rarely let the team down when called upon.
Hughton hasn’t had too many big decisions to make since his arrival at the City Ground.
Saturday will certainly lead to at least one and Ribeiro should get the nod to keep his place.
