Yesterday some footage emerged on social media of Nottingham Forest’s famous 4-2 FA Cup win over Premier League giants Arsenal in 2018.

A brace by Eric Lichaj and goals from Ben Brereton and Kieran Dowell ensured Forest knocked out the previous season’s winners.

Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck scored for the Gunners but their efforts proved in vain against a superb Forest.

With Reds supporters reminiscing on Twitter, we at Nottingham Forest News had a look at the team from that day and discussed where they are now.

GK – Jordan Smith

Now 25, Smith is still at the City Ground and is currently the deputy for number one goalkeeper Brice Samba.

Smith played the final two games of the 2019/20 campaign but hasn’t played yet this term.

The scorer of two goals against Arsenal, Lichaj was a fan favourite on Trentside.

After two seasons with Hull, he departed for Turkey in the summer and now plays for Karagumruk.

Another who is still at the City Ground, Worrall played in all 46 league games for the Reds last season.

After starring during 2017/18 he was sent on loan to Rangers for a season before returning to the City Ground and establishing himself.

After 10 goals in 43 games for Forest he spent time with Derby and Wigan before finding a new home at Carrow Road.

LW – Zach Clough

The 25-year-old is still at the City Ground, although he hasn’t made an appearance since January 2018.

Forest would dearly love to offload the man who signed for £2.5 million from Bolton but finding a suitor is proving tricky.

ST – Ben Brereton

The 21-year-old left Forest in 2019 to sign for Blackburn Rovers for £7 million.

In truth, his performance against Arsenal was the best he ever played for the Reds, with Forest landing a decent deal.

Although he has potential he’s struggled at Blackburn, scoring four goals in 58 appearances.
