Nottingham Forest star Anthony Knockaert has named Manchester City ace Riyad Mahrez as the best player he’s played with during a Q&A on Instagram.
The 29-year-old Reds winger was answering questions from supporters on his social media on Sunday afternoon.
Knockaert spent some time playing with the City wizard during his time with Leicester City and clearly he rated him highly.
The Reds man is on loan from Fulham until January and he is currently striving for some consistency under Chris Hughton.
Knockaert played in yesterday’s 2-0 defeat against Barnsley but took time out to answer some supporter questions today.
Mahrez played for City in their 2-0 loss to Tottenham yesterday and was largely disappointing.
The 29-year-old earns £120,000-a-week at City having earned his move on the back of winning the Premier League with the Foxes.
Knockaert and Mahrez are similar sorts of players, with both preferring to play in the right and cut inside, utilising the quality of their left-foot.
The challenge for Knockaert at the City Ground is to settle as quickly as possible.
Some fans are of the opinion that he should be doing more – although that notion is slightly harsh.
In the majority of games he has played, Knockaert has produced several quality deliveries into the box but he remains without an assist.
Hughton clearly knows how to get the best out of the winger who produced some incredible form to lead Brighton to the Premier League in 2017.
It seems as though the Forest boss will see Knockaert as integral to his plans and will perhaps try to extend his loan in January.
