Nottingham Forest player Brennan Johnson was introduced from the substitutes bench as Lincoln City drew 0-0 with Accrington.
The 19-year-old was left out of the action from the start, with boss Michael Appleton choosing to go with another option.
Johnson has caught the eye with a string of impressive displays this season and is learning all the time.
He has scored two goals and registered four assists during his time at the LNER Stadium.
Despite only playing the second 45 minutes at the weekend, he still earned some decent praise from Lincolnshire Live.
Their player ratings piece claimed: “Was a real threat and should have had a penalty.”
Johnson will be hoping to return to the starting line-up tomorrow when the Imps make the long trip to Swindon Town.
The Verdict – New challenge emerges for Johnson
Since arriving at the League One promotion hopefuls, Johnson has been a regular in the starting line-up.
With that in mind a new challenge has presented itself to the man tipped to be a Nottingham Forest star in the future.
He must now impress Appleton sufficiently to get back into the team and earn another regular run of games.
Forest boss Chris Hughton said last week that he was keeping tabs on the youngster’s progress and he’ll want him to be playing.
Appleton could have been leaving Johnson out simply due to the fact he didn’t return from Wales duty until late last week.
It will be interesting to see if he makes the starting eleven on Wednesday night.
Johnson will certainly hope to return as soon as possible and get back on the way towards impressing Forest once again.
