Nottingham Forest were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City with Connor Roberts’ goal in first-half stoppage time the difference between the two teams.
The Reds put in a vastly improved performance in the first half but were undone by some sloppy defending once again.
Chris Hughton couldn’t hide his disappointment after the contest and bemoaned his team’s lack of clear-cut chances.
Following the game we looked at the players performances and rated them out of 10.
Brice Samba – 6
Had very little to do other pick the ball out of the net. His distribution was largely very good.
Cyrus Christie – 5
Did okay but was left in knots by Jamal Lowe during a tough second period.
Tobias Figueiredo – 2
An embarrassing attempt at a pass back led to Swansea’s opener and proved calamitous throughout. Loic Mbe Soh surely deserves a chance on Wednesday night.
Scott McKenna – 6
Headed and kicked pretty much everything and donned the armband when Jack Colback was forced off through injury.
Yuri Ribeiro – 5
Supporters called for him to be reinstated to the team but has offered very little defensively since returning to the side.
Jack Colback – 6
Did pretty well before being forced off and seemingly his absence was felt.
Ryan Yates – 5
His radar was woefully off and he put Forest under some pressure with his wayward passing. Did show a lot of heart.
Anthony Knockaert – 6
Probably Forest’s most likely to score. Puts in some delicious deliveries but ultimately nobody was on the end of them. Also missed a good chance himself.
Miguel Angel Guerrero – 4
Poor throughout and was hooked just after half-time, didn’t seem interested at times.
Sammy Ameobi – 4
Started brightly but somehow let a player over a foot shorter than him win a header to nod Swansea in front.
Lyle Taylor – 6
Ran his socks off again but was often forced out wide to get hold of possession. Forest might not go far wrong with more players showing Taylor’s determination.
Harry Arter – 4
His worst performance in a Forest shirt and looked woefully out of sorts when replacing Colback.
Joe Lolley – 4
Also offered very little and seemed to spend a large amount of time on the floor.
Will Swan – 6
A decent first outing, although like Taylor struggled to get in possession of the ball where he could hurt Swansea.
