Nottingham Forest face Watford at the City Ground on Wednesday looking to arrest a run of three straight defeats.

Forest were beaten 1-0 by Swansea at the weekend and now another of the Championship’s promotion hopefuls.

Chris Hughton could choose to shuffle his pack with the games coming thick and fast with a vast squad of players to choose from.

With that in mind, we looked at three players who should be taken out of the Forest starting eleven on Wednesday night.

Tobias Figueiredo

His performance against Swansea was nothing short of dreadful and he quite simply has to come out of the team on Wednesday.

Loic Mbe Soh has waited patiently for a chance to shine and he deserves that opportunity.

Figueiredo took calamity to a new level against the Swans. His misplaced attempt to pass the ball back to Brice Samba ultimately led to the game’s only goal.

The Portuguese defender is showing no signs of reviving his flailing form and right now is a liability.

Sammy Ameobi

The 28-year-old is capable of the sublime and the ridiculous and last season he was decent for the Reds.

He has struggled to get going this time around, however, and he was largely frustrating against Swansea.

His defending to allow Connor Roberts to score the only goal of the game left a lot to be desired at a time when Forest needed him to stand up and be counted.

Joe Lolley was on the bench at the weekend and he perhaps deserves a start on Wednesday night.

Yuri Ribeiro

Probably an unpopular choice but ultimately the Portuguese defender has offered very little since returning to the team earlier this month.

Last season the 23-year-old proved a reliable performer at left-back but he has struggled to get going under Hughton.

Nicholas Ioannou has been out of the reckoning since being sent off against Luton and he could come back in.

Ribeiro is still the club’s best option at left-back but a break should do the youngster the world of good.
