Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Watford at the City Ground and afterwards the name on the lips of supporters was Joe Worrall.

The Reds defender returned to the fold ahead of schedule after breaking his foot two games into the 2020/21 campaign.

Boss Chris Hughton opted to hand him the armband, with Jack Colback and Scott McKenna both out injured for the Wednesday night test.

Worrall didn’t disappoint and kept Troy Deeney at bay throughout the contest and showed exactly what Forest have been missing of late.

The 23-year-old did suffer a drop in form at the end of last season – although it’s fair to say he wasn’t the only Forest player to do so.

He did play all 46 games though and he’ll now be keen to make up for lost time as the season progresses.

Worrall is very much one of Forest’s own with the Hucknall-born youngster rising through the academy ranks.

Often deemed as a future captain in the past, it’ll now be interesting to see whether he can make that position his own in the coming months.

It seems certain he will be a regular starter under Hughton and that should delight supporters.

There was plenty of praise on Twitter for Worrall after last night’s clash, with fans glad to see him back.

Here is what the fanbase were saying regarding the performance of Forest’s returning centre-back.
