Nottingham Forest were beaten for the fifth time in six matches at Norwich last night and afterwards, Anthony Knockaert had a message for the club’s supporters.
The Frenchman stopped off the bench to fire home a 73rd minute equaliser and give Forest a glimmer of hope.
Emi Buendia’s deflected effort moments later, however, ensured another frustrating 90 minutes for the Reds.
The results leaves Chris Hughton with yet more questions than answers, although Knockaert’s cameo was a positive.
Following the latest defeat, the 29-year-old had a message for the Reds faithful to stick with the team and promised things will get better.
Should Forest try and keep Knockaert?
He’s had his fair share of criticism but ultimately Forest should try and extend his loan.
Were it not for other players and their profligacy he’d be sat on four of five assists during his time at Forest.
His wand of a left-foot caused Norwich all sorts of problems last night and the challenge for the on-loan Fulham man is to do it more often.
His first goal should give him bags of confidence and hopefully now there is more to come from the wizard.
Forest can’t really get much worse in terms of the form they are showing and it’s important the players regain some confidence quickly.
The Reds did put in a better performance against Norwich but the challenge now is to attack games from the first whistle.
With Knockaert in consistent form, the league position could change pretty quickly.
