Nottingham Forest ended their long run of games without a victory by beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at the City Ground.
Goals from Yuri Ribeiro and the returning Lewis Grabban ensured a Reds win for the first time in eight games.
The result gives some breathing space between the Reds and those in the bottom three and piles the pressure on Derby County who play tomorrow night.
Boss Chris Hughton will hope to kick on now with the run of Christmas games set to come thick and fast.

It was the returning Grabban who made Forest fans lose their minds on Twitter.
The 32-year-old is a big player and having him fit for a busy period could be a massive boots for the Reds.
Grabban scored 20 goals last season but has been made to wait until matchday 19 to get his first of 2020/21.
He has sat out the last 11 matches and it’s fair to say that Forest have missed him.
Supporters were in jubilant scenes when his determination and superb finish reaped the rewards; putting the seal on a badly-needed Forest win.
Here is what the Reds faithful were saying about their talisman.
Grabban is such a difference maker

This feels different to Wycombe & Coventry. An all round round great team performance. Sammy Ameobi was incredible. We got last season’s Samba Sow. Great goal from Yuri. So pleased for Grabban. Hopefully this isn’t a false down and we can turn the corner. #nffc
