Nottingham Forest could revive their interest in Premier League winger Kamil Grosicki this month, according to Birmingham Live.

The West Bromwich Albion trickster nearly signed for the Reds in the summer transfer window.

Forest had agreed terms on a season-long loan but submitted the paperwork too late to get the deal over the line.

Since returning to the Baggies he has played just 10 minutes of football and has been an unused substitute for the last five matches.

Grosicki will have aspirations of going to the European Championships with Poland next summer and will want to be playing.

With that in mind a loan this month looks likely, with Forest still thought to be interested.

The Reds have a decision to make regarding Anthony Knockaert with his loan set to end on Thursday.

Forest have Sammy Ameobi, Joe Lolley and Alex Mighten also competing for places on the flanks.

Grosicki has scored 26 goals and registered 25 assists during 118 games in the Championship and knows the league inside out.

Do Forest need the Poland international?

It’s reasonable to suggest another wide option would be welcomed. Whether or not it should be Grosicki is another matter altogether.

Forest would definitely benefit from a right-footed attacking option.

Ameobi, Lolley and Knockaert all favour their left-foot and Grosicki would certainly provide some balance.

He is, however, 32 and there’s an argument to suggest Forest would be wise to lower the average age.

Grosicki is also paid £25,000-a-week and the Reds would probably be required to pay a chunk of that to take him on loan.

The man with 80 caps for Poland is quick, can take players on and boasts a good delivery.

His lack of football this season, however, would also represent cause for concern.

The January window isn’t an easy one to do business in but perhaps Forest should weigh up other options before going all-in on Grosicki.
