Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton appears to have made a major January transfer decision and it involves Brennan Johnson.
He was asked about the 19-year-old gem who is on loan at Lincoln City during his pre-Millwall press conference.
There had been some speculation that Johnson might be recalled by Forest this month.
The Reds are striving for creativity and some had called for the academy graduate to be recalled by Hughton.
Johnson has scored seven goals and claimed as many assists during his time at the LNER Stadium and is playing extremely well.
It doesn’t appear as though Hughton will be activating the clause in Johnson’s loan which allows him to return to the City Ground this month, however.
The Forest boss told Nottinghamshire Live: “I think it’s probably that we’re happy with him where he is at the moment.
“Fortunately for Brennan, he’s at a club where he’s playing regularly. Credit to everyone associated with Lincoln for that.”
“At the moment my thoughts are more very much that he’s better off there.”
Following these comments, Lincoln fans have been quick to jump on Twitter and rave about the decision.
Lincoln are top of League One at the moment and Johnson will now hope to claim a league winner’s medal.
Here is what the Imps supporters were saying on the back of Hughton’s latest comments.
