Nottingham Forest produced a rampant City Ground performance to comfortably dispatch Millwall in the Championship this afternoon.
The Reds won 3-1 thanks to a brace from Sammy Ameobi and a first goal of the campaign for Ryan Yates.
Ben Thompson firing Millwall’s consolation goal.
Forest were in cruise control for the majority of the contest and thoroughly deserved their 34th-minute opener.

Ameobi cut inside after some strong work from Samba Sow and his long-range effort sailed low into the Lions’ net.
Millwall started the second half brightly but couldn’t make their possession count.
They were made to pay in the 70th minute when Ameobi played a neat one-two with Alex Mighten and fired another superb effort into the net.
Yates tucked home with seven minutes remaining from a Cafu corner and Forest were in dreamland.
Thompson smashed a left-footed effort home late on – although it looked as though Brice Samba was fouled in the build up.
Where has Forest’s good form come from?
Hughton is certainly stamping his authority on the team during the seven match unbeaten run.
His team thoroughly deserved their clean sheet here and but for some poor refereeing they would have done.
Ultimately a settled group of players and an increase in work rate is paying dividends.
Forest showed real character against a team who are typically tough to beat.
The Reds played high up the pitch, kept the ball nicely and were ruthless when the chances came.
There is, of course, work to do.
Forest will fancy their chances of keeping the run going a few more weeks with the games coming thick and fast.
Star quality
The real star of today’s show was Sammy Ameobi.
He’s not been his usual self of late but here he was superb.
The 28-year-old has struggled to replicate his quality of last season but he looked to be vastly improved.

Ameobi can still be a big player for the Reds this season and Hughton will hope this gives him some confidence.
Plenty of players performed well though and the hope now will be that a sizeable corner has been turned.
