Nottingham Forest take on Millwall at the City Ground today looking to continue their climb up the Championship table.

Chris Hughton’s men are unbeaten in six matches in all competitions and improvements have been evident in recent weeks.

Last Saturday, the Forest boss made several changes to his team as he ran the rule over some of his fringe players.

Ahead of today’s game we looked at the team which Hughton could potentially pick.

In goal and back four

It seems likely that both first choice full-backs will return to the fold today.

Both Carl Jenkinson and Gaetan Bong did well last week but Cyrus Christie and Yuri Ribeiro will probably return.

At centre-back, Hughton has a conundrum.

Since arriving at the club he’s rated Tobias Figueiredo very highly, but last week Scott McKenna and Joe Worrall both played superbly well.

Expect that partnership to continue today, with the £1.8m man on the bench.

Brice Samba will return between the posts at the expense of Jordan Smith.

Samba Sow is enjoying a rare run of games without breaking down and long may that continue.

The Malian is comfortably Forest’s most consistent midfielder when he is at it and Hughton looks to be discovering that.

Alongside him, Ryan Yates will probably play with the academy graduate also being fancied by Hughton since his arrval.

In attack

Lyle Taylor scored last week and that will have given the Forest boss a headache.

It does seem likely that Lewis Grabban will be restored to the starting line-up, however, with the captain rested last week.

On the flanks, Anthony Knockaert should return on the right.

The 29-year-old extended his loan spell until the end of the season last week but didn’t feature against Cardiff City.

On the left, it’d be nice to see Alex Mighten get a run.

He looked lively when introduced against Cardiff and both Sammy Ameobi and Joe Lolley have looked out of sorts lately.

In the No.10 role it looks set to be Cafu once again, with Forest short of options in that position.

Here is how today’s team might look:
