Nottingham Forest announced the appointment of Andy Reid as the club’s new under-23 head coach yesterday.
The former Forest winger takes on the role which was vacated by Chris Cohen prior to him leaving for Luton Town.
Reid had been working alongside Cohen as the assistant manager for the academy outfit.
He now takes on the reigns with immediate effect after choosing to step down from his Republic of Ireland role.
Following his decision to take on a full-time role at the City Ground, supporters took to Twitter to send Reid their best wishes.
The man who played 29 times for his country also managed 290 appearances in the red of Nottingham Forest.
Reid is a man worshiped by the club’s supporters and having him involved has clearly delighted them.
Forest’s under-23 ranks won the title last season and are in a position to do similar this time around.
With Reid now in place, the future looks bright and he will look to continue honing his managerial skills.
Forest fans are jubilant at the news and have taken to Twitter.
Here is what they are saying about the appointment of Reid.
