Nottingham Forest landed Filip Krovinovic last night on loan from Benfica until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Following his arrival, he received messages of support from West Brom stars Kamil Grosicki, Conor Gallagher and Karlan Grant.
Krovinovic was deemed surplus by Sam Allardyce and his season-long loan was cancelled by the Baggies.
He now checks in at the City Ground for the remainder of the season having won promotion from the Championship during 2019/20.
Krovinovic typically occupies a No.10 role, although he can play in the centre of midfield too.
Following his arrival he received some well wishes from his Albion teammates.
Grosicki has been linked with a move to Forest for some time and he was the first to offer his congratulations.
Gallagher is on loan at The Hawthorns from Chelsea, whilst Karlan Grant checked in from Huddersfield for £15 million.
Both players have spent time on the pitch with Krovinovic this season and they too sent him some best wishes following his Forest move.
Krovinovic is ineligible to play for the Reds in today’s FA Cup game after playing for the Baggies against Blackpool in the previous round.
He will hope to play a part next weekend as Forest face Barnsley at the City Ground in the Championship.
Is Krovinovic a decent signing?
On the face of it, it certainly looks pretty decent.
He is a proven Championship performer who was playing week in and week out with a successful team last season.
His four goals and three assists helped the Baggies to promotion.
Forest have lacked creativity in their ranks and the hope will be that Krovinovic can help the Reds create more chances.
Last January was a disaster from Forest’s perspective in the transfer window.
The addition of Krovinovic doesn’t feel like an Adama Diakhaby kind of signing and Chris Hughton will hope he can hit the ground running.
