With deadline day firmly upon us, we take a look at five deals that could take place involving Nottingham Forest today.
In – Glenn Murray
According to The Argus, Murray looks set to complete his switch from Brighton later on today.
The veteran talisman has been on loan at Watford during the first half of the campaign but managed just over 100 minutes of league action.
He has played the best football of his career under Chris Hughton at the AMEX Stadium.
In 127 appearances playing under the current Forest boss he has found the net on 52 occasions.
Out – Will Swan (Loan)
Ipswich Town emerged as leading candidates to take the youngster on loan last week.
Paul Lambert could move before today’s transfer deadline to take the 20-year-old for the rest of the season.
Swan has featured for the Reds twice from the bench this season but has slipped out of the picture since Lewis Grabban’s return to action.
Right now, playing football is the best thing for Swan and League One would represent a good test for the academy star.
In – Joe Lumley
The QPR goalkeeper was linked with a move to Forest by TalkSPORT yesterday.
He has been on the bench for the club’s last three games but has been on loan to Doncaster and Gillingham this season.
Forest have Brice Samba as the club’s number one stopper but Hughton clearly isn’t convinced by Jordan Smith.
He shipped five last week at Swansea in the FA Cup and Lumley will provide some proven competition.
Out – Miguel Angel Guerrero
It would be absolutely no surprise to see the 30-year-old depart the City Ground before the day is out.
Espanyol are keen to hand the player a chance to return to Spain today, with the Segunda Division outfit chasing promotion back to La Liga.
Guerrero has made 11 appearances for the Reds, without registering a goal contribution.
He hasn’t really shown the required quality which suggests he could make an impact in the Championship.
In – Joe Piggott
An interesting one has emerged which suggests the AFC Wimbledon striker could check in before the day is out.
The Mirror claimed the 13-goal talisman was wanted by the Reds ahead of tonight’s deadline.
He was linked with a move to Derby County back in November but now Forest look to be at the front of the queue for his signature.
Pigott is out of contract in the summer and today represents the last chance for AFC Wimbledon to receive a fee for their star man.
