Nottingham Forest’s latest signing Glenn Murray has hailed Reds manager Chris Hughton, with the chance to reunite with his former boss too good to turn down.
37-year-old Murray has signed for Forest on a short term deal until the summer, but the move to Trentside sees him link up with a familiar face.
Hughton brought the forward back to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2016, with Murray scoring 52 goals in 127 games under his stewardship.

Now, Murray gets the chance to work with Hughton again and speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, he admitted this was a key aspect.
“(It was) A massive one (factor),” Murray said. “I had a successful period with Chris and really enjoyed working under him. I’m looking forward to getting started Monday morning.
“It’s an opportunity to play football under a regime that I’ve played under before and to try and help the club progress and get out of the situation that they’re in.”

Murray had previously been on loan at Watford, but the move didn’t work out with the striker failing to score in six appearances.
Now, he’s focussed on getting Forest out of a relegation battle and he believes the club has the personnel to do it.
“Like most people from the outside, you look at the squad and there are some very good players. I think it’s just a matter of time before we kick into gear and get out of that.
“You’ve got to be together, you’ve got to work for one another – if you can get your flair players working back and working for the team then you’re halfway there and I think talent will take us the rest of the way.”
