Miguel Angel Guerrero has departed Nottingham Forest to sign for Rayo Vallecano for an undisclosed fee.

The Reds confirmed the deal on their official website and Guerrero leaves after just over four months at the club.

A 30-year-old attacking option, he signed for Forest in September but leaves with just 11 appearances to his name.

He played really well during a 2-0 win over Wycombe in November but struggled for consistency.

He was often deemed second fiddle and hasn’t managed a run of games under Chris Hughton.

Guerrero joins Vallecano with the Spanish club fourth in the Segunda Division and chasing promotion to La Liga.

It will see him return to his homeland where he has enjoyed success in the past.

He has turned out for Leganes, Sporting Gijon and Albacete previously during his career.

Following news of his departure, Forest supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss the move.

It seems like a move which makes sense and fans are pretty happy to get him off the wage bill.

Many are disgruntled at the fact he was even signed in the first place, however.

It’s another indication that the recruitment at the football club leaves a lot to be desired and plenty are feeling disgruntled.

Here is a selection what the Forest fan base are saying on Twitter following Guerrero’s departure this evening.
