Nottingham Forest academy graduate Will Swan has joined Port Vale on loan until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Reds striker has made two substitute appearances this season, coming on against Swansea City and Reading.
Swan was handed the chance to feature when Lewis Grabban suffered a hip injury which kept him out for 11 games.
With the Forest captain now fully fit, however, Swan’s chances of action have been restricted somewhat.
Glenn Murray also checked in today and that has bumped the youngster further down the pecking order.
Port Vale are currently 15th in the League Two table and Swan will link up with former Reds prospect Jake Taylor.
Swan is an exciting prospect but right now regular football is a must for his development.
Throwing a youngster into a relegation battle perhaps wouldn’t be ideal and loaning him out makes a lot of sense.
Following this evening’s news plenty of Port Vale supporters have been discussing the signing of Swan.
With the Valiants due to play another 19 games this season, the Forest starlet will have plenty of chances to impress.
