Cyrus Christie has taken to Instagram to rave about Nottingham Forest star Filip Krovinovic after yesterday’s win.

The Reds beat Wycombe 3-0 courtesy of a Glenn Murray brace and Anthony Knockaert – but Krovinovic continues to impress.

The 25-year-old has played in three matches since his arrival from Benfica and has been quality in the Garibaldi.

He has slotted in seamlessly into the No.10 role and has helped Chris Hughton’s men to a couple of wins and a draw.

After yesterday’s game, Forest right-back Christie took to Instagram to place the word ‘Modric’ on the Croatian’s post.

Krovinovic is perhaps Forest’s version of the Croatian superstar who currently plays for Real Madrid.

The pair play in the same position and it seems certain that Modric is considered a role model for the Forest man.

Krovinovic’s career has taken a different path to the La Liga star though.

The man with 11 under-21 caps started his career in the youth academy at Dinamo Zagreb before moving to NK Zagreb.

In 2015 he moved to Liga NOS outfit Rio Ave and after impressing, he earned a move to Benfica.

Loan spells at West Brom and now Forest are aiding his development, with Krovinovic already boasting 28 appearances for the Portuguese giants.

Hughton has been crying out for a player like the Croatian since his arrival at the club.

He hasn’t disappointed either and was once again impressive against Wycombe.

The challenge for Forest this season is simply to preserve their Championship status.

Krovinovic might not be set for a career quite like Modric but if helps Forest achieve their goals he’ll be adored by the City Ground faithful.
