Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback has heaped praise on new signing Glenn Murray and has also claimed the club’s current attacking unit is the best it’s been since he’s been at the club.
Murray, on his first start for the Reds, was the hero in Forest’s 3-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers, with the 37-year-old bagging a brace.
Colback is now in his second spell with Forest having signed in the summer, but believes that Murray’s ability has taken the club’s attacking outlet to a new level.

“He (Murray) has been good in training – finishing-wise he looks very good indeed,” Colback told The Athletic. “Anything in and around the box, he has been putting away.
“If he gets opportunities in matches, I am sure he will put them away. The manager knows him and he knows the manager, so it feels like a perfect fit.
“If the manager thought he was too old, he would not have signed him. If you perform, then your age is irrelevant.
“Our attacking arsenal is as good now as it has been in all my spells at the club. Team-wise and squad wise, it is the best it has been. Glenn has made a positive first impression.”

In Colback’s previous spell with Forest in 2018/19, they had Lewis Grabban, Daryl Murphy, Leo Bonatini, Karim Ansarifard and Hillal Soudani as their striking options.
They also had Joe Lolley, Jamie Ward, Diogo Goncalves, Matty Cash and Gil Dias as their widemen, while Joao Carvalho played as the 10.
Now, Forest still have Grabban, but they also have Lyle Taylor and Murray as their forwards, while Anthony Knockaert, Lolley, Sammy Ameobi and Alex Mighten operate down the flanks.
One huge issue for them has been a lack of a player to combine both midfield and attack in that 10 role, but new loan signing Filip Krovinovic seems to have remedied that, while Luke Freeman is also back from injury.
Is Jack Colback right to say the club’s attacking unit is better now than it was in 2018/19?
