Nottingham Forest right back Cyrus Christie has hailed the impact made by the club’s January signings, especially James Garner.
In the January window, Chris Hughton’s side signed Garner on loan from Manchester United, Filip Krovinovic on loan from Benfica and Glenn Murray from Brighton & Hove Albion.
All three have made an immediate impact at the club, but Christie singled out Garner for praise as he feels the United man helps his style of play.

“They’ve come in and they’ve come in straightaway and hit the ground running,” Christie said via the club’s YouTube channel.
“Jimmy Garner has done really well and for me as a full back and the way that I play, he’s been a lot better for me in terms of how he gets the ball quick and switches the play.
“It makes my job a lot easier and it’s a lot better for how me and Knocks (Anthony Knockaert) play, especially in getting the ball out quick to us.
“You saw that at Coventry when that happens and what can happen.”

At the 2-1 win at Coventry City, Garner was instrumental in the second goal Forest scored as he drove a diagonal pass into Knockaert’s feet.
Knockaert then played in Christie on the overlap, whose cross was turned into his own net by Michael Rose.
Christie also spoke highly of Murray and Krovinovic and believes that the added competition is a good thing for the club.

“Glenn’s come in with a lot of experience and you know that he can score goals – he’s done it all his career and he’s a wonderful player as well.
“That’s three great additions to the team and it adds some healthy competition and we’ve still got a few boys to come back from injury as well. Things are looking up.”
