Nottingham Forest were made to pay for a glut of missed chances in defeat to Swansea City.

The Reds were deserving of at the very least a point but came away with nothing after Connor Roberts’ late goal.

On another night Forest would have been out of sight before the late goal but couldn’t capitalise on a positive performance.

Chris Hughton will take plenty of heart from the defeat, however, and Anthony Knockaert came in for praise from supporters.

The Frenchman showcased his talent with an energetic performance and should have scored.

His curling effort on the stroke of half-time struck the top of the crossbar in another let-off for Swansea.

Knockaert extended his loan from Fulham during the January transfer window and will remain on Trentside until the summer.

Once again the Cottagers-owned star put in a wonderful shift for the Forest cause and on another night could have had a goal and an assist.

The Reds now return to home comforts with Blackburn Rovers due at the City Ground on Saturday.

It’s important that tonight’s setback is quickly parked and Forest regain focus ahead of a big couple of weeks.

Following last night’s game we looked at what Forest fans were saying about Knockaert’s performance.
