Filip Krovinovic has been a decent Nottingham Forest signing and last night he received some praise from Lyle Taylor.
The Croatian checked in on loan from Benfica having spent the last 18 months at West Brom.
He helped the Baggies to promotion to the Premier League last season, playing 42 times at the Hawthorns.
Krovinovic has been an ever-present since arriving at the City Ground and is getting better each week.
Last night he was one of Forest’s star men at the New York Stadium as the Reds beat Rotherham 1-0.
After posting on Instagram his delight at claiming all three points, Taylor had some kind words for the 25-year-old.
Taylor came on as a substitute last night and he must hope to earn a chance to start in the same team as Krovinovic soon.
The former Croatia under-21 international has looked really neat in possession and is capable of picking out some tremendous passes.
Krovinovic is showing some real star quality in the No.10 role and Chris Hughton must be eyeing a permanent deal in the summer.
Whether his current club will be keen to sell remains to be seen but another loan would seem almost certain.
Forest will have Brennan Johnson coming back into their ranks during the summer and that might play into Hughton’s thinking.
The Reds will want to make sure they are well-stocked with creative options though and that could see Krovinovic added again.
For Taylor the challenge is to simply find the goal trail again.
It hasn’t been an easy first campaign at Forest for the experienced striker and he’s fallen behind Lewis Grabban and Glenn Murray in the pecking order.
Grabban’s injury could hand him a lifeline in the coming weeks, however, and he’ll be keen to grasp his next starting berth.
