Nottingham Forest talent Jordan Gabriel has told Nottinghamshire Live that he’s looking forward to playing under Chris Hughton.
The 22-year-old is spending the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Blackpool and is currently performing well.
A right-back, Gabriel started Forest’s first two games of the season before joining the Tangerines on a temporary basis.
He has been forced to work hard to get into the team but has now made the right-back spot his own.
He’s made 19 appearances for the League One outfit, scoring once during an FA Cup tie against Eastbourne.
Although he is fully focused on finishing the season strongly with Blackpool, Gabriel has spoken with Hughton.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: “We had a nice conversation.
“From what I know and what I hear, I’m looking forward to working with him, playing under, training with him and developing as a player and as a person.
“I’ve got nothing but high words for him.”
Could Gabriel be set for prolonged Forest chance?
It certainly seems like a possibility and why not?
Forest will certainly have space for a new right-back next season and Gabriel is more than capable of stepping up.
Cyrus Christie has looked far better recently but it seems unlikely that Forest will look to sign him permanently in the summer.
Carl Jenkinson is also at the club but he’s struggled massively for game time since checking in during the summer of 2019.
That could see the door swing open for Gabriel and it’s a move which could delight supporters.
The youngster did okay during his two outings earlier this season and the future certainly looks bright.
With Hughton seeking him out for a chat it seems pretty conclusive that he will be handed a chance to shine for Forest during pre-season.
