Nottingham Forest have been linked with a summer move for Blackpool striker Jerry Yates – and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
The talisman has been in fine form during 2020/21, firing Blackpool into the play-off places.
On Tuesday night he bagged two goals to take his tally for the campaign to 16 in all competitions during a 3-1 win over Peterborough.
The Reds are likely to pursue the signing of a striker during the summer, following a season of struggle in front of goal.
Football Insider has linked the ex-Rotherham man with a move to the City Ground.
Forest have scored just 30 times in the Championship and Chris Hughton will be under no illusions where he needs to strengthen.
Yates could prove an ideal addition. He is big, strong and ultimately knows where the back of the net is.
Blackpool fans don’t seem convinced that the £2 million being touted will be anything like enough.
They are hoping the club will hold out for a bigger fee, with Blackburn and Bristol City also monitoring his progress.
Following the news which emerged yesterday, we took a look at what Blackpool fans were saying about their striker potentially leaving the club.
£2m wouldn’t buy his right leg lads— Dan Franks (@DanielFranks85) March 24, 2021
Irreplaceable. Start the bidding at about £5m.— BISONS (@BISONS1973) March 24, 2021
Why would he want to go to any of those three? We'll be playing them next season!— Peter Seddon (@sedds247) March 24, 2021

2 million in this day an age for a striker that’s scoring goals not a chance Sadler would tell them were to go minimum 5 million at least .— stephen john gane (@ganejohn) March 24, 2021
£2 million is a joke right ? He’s worth a hell of a lot more than that.— Ryan Jackson (@rjackson16191) March 24, 2021
