Alleged Nottingham Forest target Mohamed Drager has made a very big point to his manager after a devastating display on international duty.
However, it would appear as if the Tunisia international has no intention of going quietly, with the 24-year-old delivering a not so subtle dig to Martins on his Instagram following a 5-2 win over Libya.
Drager got a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win, also taking home the Man of the Match award, in what was his 90 minutes since February 3.
His response, which you can see below, was short but sharp – “still alive.”
Above all else, it would have been some personal vindication for Drager, who has had a nightmare at Olympiacos since his €1m move from SC Freiburg last summer.
The full back has played just five league games, in addition to one Champions League match and one cup game.
Drager was signed as a back up to Rafinha, but despite Rafinha now leaving to join Gremio, Drager has found himself as third choice right back.
Kenny Lala was signed as an immediate Rafinha replacement, while Thanasis Androutsos was deputising instead of Drager when needed.
Interestingly – and much like former Forest right back Matty Cash – Drager started out his career as a right winger, but was retrained in a full back role.
He has been described as “a very good package” for a full back, with pace, creativity, physicality and technique all areas of strength for Drager.
With Cyrus Christie only on loan and with Carl Jenkinson seemingly surplus to requirements, Forest will potentially be looking at the right back area in the summer.
They will have Jordan Gabriel returning from a successful loan spell at Blackpool, but may opt for another option as well if they do not sign Christie on a permanent basis.
Would you sign Mohamed Drager for Nottingham Forest?
