Manchester United and England international Mason Greenwood has singled out James Garner after he shone in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Cardiff City.
Garner scored the game’s only goal when he converted Cyrus Christie’s low cross and was typically assured on the ball throughout.
The Red Devil has made a big impression at his loan club with many Forest fans hoping to retain Garner on loan next season.
His form hasn’t gone unnoticed by his parent club and taking to his Twitter account, Greenwood gave an assessment on Garner many Forest fans will agree with.
“What a player” was the short and sweet statement from the 19-year-old, who has one England cap and 11 league goals for United.
The strike against Cardiff was Garner’s second goal for Forest, with his first coming in the 1-1 draw away at Derby County.
That goal may have been a bit fortuitous in that Derby goalkeeper David Marshall should’ve saved it, but this effort was far from it.
Garner was in the right place at the right time as Christie’s pull back came to him, before he emphatically put it away.

It was reported in The Athletic that United are going to run the rule over Garner in pre-season, before deciding what to do next.
It is believed they are hoping for a Premier League loan, but Forest will be looking to make a case to try and keep him for another year.
Given he has already become a key player at the side, you’d think Forest will make Garner a priority loan signing.
Will Nottingham Forest retain James Garner next season?
