Nottingham Forest defeated Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at the City Ground and afterwards David Johnson singled two players out for praise.
The former Reds striker was impressed with Lewis Grabban and also picked out Cyrus Christie for his brilliance too.
Forest captain Grabban was back among the goals, scoring the second to take his tally for the season to four.
Last season, the 33-year-old became the first Forest player to reach the 20-goal mark since Johnson.
This season hasn’t really gone according to plan, however, with Grabban struggling with fitness and consistency.
His goal against QPR should at least give him some confidence ahead of the final six games of the campaign.
The summer looks likely to provide a potential sub-plot as far as Grabban is concerned.
He has been linked previously with a move to Al-Duhail, the team managed by former Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi.
The experienced talisman does have a contract beyond the current campaign, although it remains to be seen whether or not he will remain at the club.
What next for Grabban?
It will certainly be an interesting summer and it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll be at the club next season.
Forest aren’t blessed with lots of options in attack and Hughton might want to beef up his options.
That doesn’t necessarily mean a departure for Grabban.
His goal against QPR highlighted his qualities and if he does stay the key for Hughton will be to get the best out of him on a more frequent basis.
