Nottingham Forest transfer target Luke Jephcott has been named higher than Joe Worrall in Four Four Two’s list of the Top 50 EFL players

The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals during 2020/21 and is thought to be valued at £3.5 million by Plymouth.

His goals have ensured a comfortable first season in League One for the Pilgrims.

Jephcott will naturally have a long list of admirers in the summer and Forest are likely to remain interested.

The Reds will want to bolster their firepower having struggled for goals throughout the current campaign.

At the back, Forest have looked pretty solid at times, with Joe Worrall vital to the defensive unit.

The 24-year-old homegrown talent has excelled when called upon and was named 44th in the list compiled by Four Four Two.

Jephcott was named 33rd and is clearly viewed as one of the best strikers currently operating in the third tier.

The list of course doesn’t really mean a great deal in context of things.

Forest fans, for example, will back Worrall as one of the Championship’s best defenders, despite what Four Four Two might believe.

Interestingly, Worrall is one of only three Championship centre-backs included in the list, highlighting his credentials.

It’s perhaps Jephcott’s inclusion that makes for some exciting possibilities.

He does seem like a striker who ticks all the boxes as a Forest signing this summer.

The Wales under-21 international is young, scores goals and also shows maturity beyond his years with some intelligent hold up play.

With Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor struggling for goals during 2020/21, another option will be sought.

Jephcott could prove the perfect addition for Forest – and Four Four Two know it.
