Brennan Johnson salvaged a point for Lincoln City yesterday and received Instagram praise from some Nottingham Forest stars.

The talented academy gem scored an equaliser as the Imps drew 2-2 with Blackpool, taking his tally to nine for the season.

Johnson looks set for a bright future and the versatile attacker looks set to earn a chance at the City Ground next season.

Boss Chris Hughton has previously stated he is keeping tabs on the youngster and the future looks bright.

After his latest heroics he received praise from Loic Mbe Soh, Alex Mighten and Jordan Gabriel – who he came up against yesterday.

It came as a surprise to plenty of supporters when Johnson was allowed to join Lincoln on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.

The move does seem to have had the desired effect, however, with Johnson thriving in League One.

 

He has scored nine goals and claimed 12 assists during the campaign and Lincoln are nicely poised in the table.

Johnson does have eight Forest appearances to his name but the vast majority have come from the bench.

Time is on his side, however. He will almost certainly get a chance to prove himself again next season and he’s now a more polished player.

The 19-year-old has thrived on the flanks this season under Michael Appleton and it’ll be interesting to see how Hughton sees his future.

Whichever position he sees fit to play him, the Forest boss has to give him a real chance to shine next season.
