There has been some talk recently regarding the future of Nottingham Forest youngster Marcus McGuane.
It has been claimed that Oxford United might be keen to sign him on a permanent deal for next season.
The ex-Arsenal trainee played 20 times in Karl Robinson’s team but saw his season ended in February through injury.
It was recently claimed that talks had begun over the 22-year-old heading to Oxford on a permanent deal.

Whether he leaves or not remains to be seen. If he does, however, it could open the door for Tyrese Fornah to shine.
The teenager is on loan at Plymouth where he’s been a regular starter in Ryan Lowe’s team during 2020/21.
At 21, Fornah looks set for a bright future and he looks set to be part of pre-season training under Chris Hughton this summer.
It was anticipated that McGuane would be the next cab off the rank in midfield but his departure would thrown up an opportunity.
Forest’s midfield options could become pretty light in the summer.
James Garner will return to Manchester United when his loan ends and Samba Sow will probably be released.
Jack Colback has hardly featured in the last five months, with Harry Arter also a feasible option to leave the club during the transfer window.
That would leave Ryan Yates and Cafu as the only two out-and-out central midfielders at the club.
Supporters would certainly welcome a chance for Fornah. Plenty are crying out for younger players to be given a chance and the academy starlet fits that bill.
Talent
During his time at Home Park, Fornah has showcased tenacity, work rate and an ability to protect the back four.
He’s not looked out of place in League One and that could bode well for the future.

If Forest – and Hughton – manage to sign a midfielder or two, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Fornah loaned out once more.
If they don’t, however, he could find himself impressing sufficiently to earn himself a chance next season.
McGuane leaving without getting a chance would sting in the eyes of some Forest supporters.
His departure could hand Fornah a proper chance though and that could help soften the blow.
