Brennan Johnson scored a scintillating hat-trick last night and Nottingham Forest fans lost their minds on Twitter.

The Reds academy graduate took his tally for the season to 12 goals as the Imps dismantled MK Dons 4-0 in League One.

Johnson’s 11-minute hat-trick saw Michael Appleton’s team reignite their push towards promotion, securing a first win in six matches.

He’s now scored a dozen goals to go with 12 assists and looks to be a real prospect in the Forest ranks.

Johnson already has eight appearances to his name for Forest but he’s not really been given a proper chance.

He will return to the club a more polished player and surely Chris Hughton will be watching him closely in pre-season.

Following his stunning trio of goals last night, Forest supporters lost their minds on social media.

The consensus is that he should go straight into the team next season after proving his worth in the division below.

Forest’s squad could take on a new complexion next season and on current form, there has to be a space for Johnson.

Here is what the Forest faithful had to say following a memorable night for the 19-year-old.
