Brennan Johnson just can’t stop helping himself to goal contributions – much to the delight of Nottingham Forest supporters.
He helped Lincoln to a 4-0 win over MK Dons last night by scoring an 11-minute hat-trick – the first of his senior career.
Johnson now has 12 goals and assists for the campaign with the Imps on course for a solid end to the season.
Forest fans hope to see him in the first-team next season; with Chris Hughton under immense supporter pressure to get him in the team.
After the game last night he naturally earned some praise from the local press.
Lincolnshire Live were at the game and afterwards, they raved about Johnson in a piece giving out player ratings.
Remarkably the Forest-owned starlet didn’t get a maximum score and was instead forced to settle for a 9/10.
The Lincolnshire Live correspondent wrote: “After a low-key first half, Johnson came alive after the break.
“The first finish was the best of the lot as he showed buckets of composure to clip the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.”
Is Johnson ready for Forest stardom?
Right now, the Forest academy graduate is showcasing the talents which could see him take the Championship by storm next season.
His 24 goal contributions have made him one of the third tier’s best players this season and you wouldn’t be against Lincoln winning promotion.
Johnson quite simply has to earn a Forest chance next season and he’s really grown as a player during his time at Lincoln.
He is quick, can score goals and possesses the ability to ease past opposition defenders. Johnson is a supremely talented individual and a Forest chance beckons.
