Nottingham Forest and Coventry City are just two of the clubs thought to be interested in Dorking Wanderers starlet Olly Allen.

According to Surrey Live, the 17-year-old could be on the radar of several Championship clubs, with Forest and the Sky Blues named.

Allen had trials with Wolves and Brighton earlier in the season, although no deal was forthcoming for the young talent.

Interestingly the teenager has only recently put pen-to-paper on his first proper contract with the National League South outfit.

He was one of four talented players to sign new terms with the football club to keep them in place for the 2021/22 campaign.

Dorking were on course for promotion until the league was null and voided and Allen will hope to break into the first-team next season.

It seems as though Forest have already made contact, with the player confirming the recent interest.

He told Surrey Live: “Wolves spoke to me a couple of days after the trial to basically say they weren’t going to offer me a pro contract.

“They said there were two clubs, Nottingham Forest and Coventry, watching the game I was playing.

“They were interested and Forest have followed up and have made contact with my dad and the club.

“I’m really keen on Dorking but it’s nice to know that other clubs are keen, like Forest have laready shown.”

Should Forest pursue Allen?

Absolutely! Gary Brazil and his staff will know a thing or two about young talent if they fancy him, why not?

Forest enjoyed some success by plucking Dale Taylor from Linfield last summer and he’s busy making waves in the under-23 ranks.

The teenager typically operates in midfield and he must be aware of Forest’s track record when it comes to producing young talent.

It seems as though Forest are extremely keen have already made advances and it remains to be seen if they will get their man this summer.
