According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest are set to ramp up their efforts to strengthen their backroom staff.
It is claimed that George Syrianos, currently at VfB Stuttgart, is set to take on a senior role as part of a new-look recruitment team.
His official title with the Bundesliga outfit is Head of Analytics and it appears that Forest are taking a step into the modern era.
Plenty of clubs utilise analysis when recruiting players these days. Brentford and Barnsley in particular have enjoyed reasonable success with this approach.

Now, it seems as though Forest are keen to take their recruitment team into the 21st century in a bid to revive on-field fortunes.
Forest added 16 players to their ranks last summer, despite finishing seventh during 2019/20.
The approach hasn’t worked, with many of the players signed failing to make an impact at the club.
This new approach can only bode well and supporters are certainly impressed with the reports on Twitter.
Chris Hughton is set for a massive summer and this move by the club can only be a positive ahead of a big recruitment drive.
Following this afternoon’s reports, we looked at what supporters were saying about the imminent arrival of George Syrianos.
Excellent. To be fair it has to be an upgrade. Let’s hope all this positivity ends with Ioannis leaving, an experienced CEO coming in and we move forward in a positive fashion at long last

Vital decisions being driven by data, who would have thought it !?! 🙄. Good to see us finally changing though after years of a disaster recruitment strategy. #nffc https://t.co/llUUeVJAju
