Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro has posted a cryptic message on Twitter and supporters think he’s about to leave.

The left-back is out of contract this summer, although some reports had claimed that he might be handed an extension.

His post this afternoon doesn’t appear to suggest as much, however, and the player’s mind looks to be made up.

Ribeiro has proved a decent addition to the Forest ranks. He checked in during the summer of 2019 as one of Sabri Lamouchi’s first additions.

The former Benfica youngster has made 52 appearances for the Reds, scoring his only goal against Sheffield Wednesday during 2020/21.

He probably won’t be short of offers and his latest Twitter post doesn’t suggest he is staying on these shores.

At 24, Ribeiro would have been a decent player to keep around but despite Forest’s efforts, it would seem the player has opted to move on.

The defender wasn’t entirely in favour under Chris Hughton and perhaps that has played a part in his thinking.

His latest Tweet definitely sounds like a goodbye though and Forest fans believe the player is heading for the exit.

It does represent something of a blow that he’s made the decision to walk away from the football club.

With the summer already expected to be a busy one, Forest now find themselves in need of a new left-back.

Tyler Blackett has done okay but having struggled with injury problems, Forest will need another option.

Gaetan Bong hasn’t made the grade at Forest and The Telegraph claim he’s been told that he’s free to leave this summer.

Following Ribeiro’s post, supporters have reacted, wishing the energetic performer all the best in the the future.

Here is what they had to say to the Portuguese star.
