Nottingham Forest are eyeing a move for Watford performer Philip Zinckernagel, according to a report by Football Insider.

The 26-year-old only signed for the Hornets in January. He penned a five-and-a-half year contract and helped the club into the Premier League.

Zinckernagel checked in from Bodo/Glimt and proved a success. He made 21 appearances for Xisco Munoz’s team, scoring four goals and claiming five assists.

Chris Hughton has made no secret of his desire to sign attacking players. Forest were among the lowest scorers in the league last season and that needs addressing.

Zinckernagel might be viewed as a coup. The Reds would be adding a player who played his part in helping a team into the top-flight.

Forest have been meticulous in their search for players. A change in CEO could be holding up the recruitment drive. Dane Murphy has been linked with a move to the City Ground, with his Barnsley deal expiring this week.

Following the news today, some Watford fans have been reacting. They think Forest should forget about signing their player, with many believing he’s an asset.

Others do think he could be sold, although plenty aren’t so sure. Nonetheless, plenty have thrown their opinion into the mix on Twitter.

Here is what Watford fans think as Zinckernagel is linked with a move to the City Ground.
