Nottingham Forest are eyeing a move for Fortuna Sittard midfielder Zian Flemming. Veronica Insider claimed that a bid has already been made by the Reds.
The 22-year-old signed for Sittard from PEC Zwolle in August 2020. During 2020/21, he scored 15 goals and claimed seven assists in the Dutch top-flight.
Flemming played largely as a number 10 but does boast some versatility. He featured six times in central midfielder and played three games on the right-wing and as a striker.
The Amsterdam-born player is also on the radar of Napoli. It was claimed by Sky Italia on Friday that the Naples-based club are in the race for his signature.
It would seem as though the player wants to come to Forest though. Daniel Taylor from The Athletic claimed on Twitter that Flemming is keen to come to the City Ground this summer.
Forest are yet to make an addition to their ranks so far. The Reds are now back in pre-season training, however, and boss Chris Hughton will want things to pick up.
It’s clear the squad needs reinforcing. Forest finished 17th in the Championship last season and will hope to go better when football resumes.
Flemming might be the ideal addition for Forest and his versatility could be key.
Future star: Flemming could be impressive capture for Forest
This summer is all about quality over quantity and the Dutch midfielder could represent a great start to things.
The Reds are desperate for an attack-minded midfielder and one being looked at by Napoli wouldn’t be frowned upon.
His goal contributions are decent for a player in his position and Forest could welcome some of that creative flamboyance.
This could be one to watch, but Forest look like they might have found a gem if this deal gets over the line.
