Nottingham Forest have made an approach to Watford to sign winger Philip Zinckernagel on a season-long loan, according to the Watford Observer.
The Reds might have been handed a big boost too. It is claimed in the report that the Hornets aren’t against the idea of letting the Danish performer leave this summer.
Zinckernagel only signed for Watford in January. He penned a five-year deal with the club and starred as they won promotion back to the Premier League.

In 21 appearances in the Championship, Zinckernagel scored once and claimed five assists for the Hornets. He checked in from Bodo/Glimt and quickly became a fan favourite.
During his time with the Norwegian outfit, he was in stunning form. He helped the team claim the title, scoring 19 times and registered 24 assists from just 28 appearances.
Forest landing Zinckernagel would certainly be a step in the right direction. He knows the division and would relish the chance to keep playing regular football.
He is expected to fall down the pecking order at Vicarage Road and if he stays there, his game time could be restricted.
Forest are yet to add to their squad this summer and boss Chris Hughton will hope to see players arrive before the big kick-off.
Forest should pounce for Zinckernagel
The Reds are unlikely to be alone in the quest to sign the winger and they might need to pounce quickly.

If Watford are happy for him to join Forest, the club must do whatever it takes to get the deal over the line.
At 26 he’s at a nice age to continue improving and there could be scope for the player to sign permanent terms at the City Ground.
Forest don’t have an abundance of wingers and another to add to the ranks would be ideal. As a result, Zinckernagel could be perfect for Forest.
