Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Crewe yesterday as the team maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season. Brennan Johnson notched both of the Reds’ goals and afterwards, supporters raved about his performance.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Lincoln. Plenty of fans wanted Johnson to be recalled in January but he stayed in League One and helped the club to the play-off final.
The Imps were beaten by Blackpool in the showpiece finale. Johnson did, however, set up Lincoln’s goal in the final, putting the seal on a fine campaign on a personal level.
He scored 13 goals in Michael Appleton’s team and also registered 14 assists during a standout campaign for the Reds youngster.
Now, he’s back at Forest and will hope to have a big part to play during 2021/22. Johnson marked his return to the team yesterday with a solid showing against Crewe.
Both of his goals were taken extremely well and he’ll hope to win a place in Chris Hughton’s team ahead of the big Championship kick-off.
Johnson is already proving a big hit with the supporters. After yesterday’s game, there were plenty of fans praising him for his brace.
