Nottingham Forest look set to sign Josh Doig on loan ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The Reds are actively involved in an interesting deal for the Hibernian talent.

The SPL outfit are close to agreeing on a £4 million deal with two Premier League clubs, with Burnley set to be one of them.

Forest are right at the front of the queue to take Doig on loan should he rock up in the Premier League. Arsenal and West Ham have previously been credited with an interest.

The 19-year-old is a bright young talent and is wanted by many Premier League outfits. He has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Hibernian.

Doig is a product of the club’s youth academy but now looks set for a move. Whoever signs him looks set to loan him straight out and Forest are in pole position.

The Reds are actively looking for a left-back. Yuri Ribeiro has left on a free, whilst Tyler Blackett will miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery.

Forest have Gaetan Bong in their ranks. Starting the season with him at left-back wouldn’t be ideal and the Reds are against the clock to sign a player in time.

Exciting Doig addition would be ideal for Forest

The teenager is a wanted man and looks set to earn a Premier League move. Forest then landing him on loan makes sense and will see Forest land a cost-effective signing.

Doig likes to get forward and is befitting of the type of left-back that Chris Hughton likes to deploy.

He would naturally strengthen Forest in an area of the pitch where they are currently weak and as a talented youngster, his arrival would be exciting.

Forest have been meticulous in their pursuit of new players. A signing or two before next Sunday would be ideal and lift the spirits of the supporters.

Doig arriving on Trentside might be viewed as a sizeable coup for Forest.
