The 19-year-old looks set for a bright future and on this showing, Forest must do whatever it takes to keep hold of the versatile attacking option.

Johnson’s lung-busting pace saw him advance down the pitch, before playing a stunning ball across to Taylor who couldn’t miss from six yards out.

The academy star has been linked with a move away from the City Ground. As a result, the Reds have an anxious wait to see if he remains a Forest player at the end of August.

Johnson played the full 90 minutes and he will hope to be back in action when Forest play Bradford in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Forest fans buzzing with Johnson impact
