Nottingham Forest are close to the signing of Arsenal defender Jordi Osei-Tutu, according to Football London. The Reds have been in the market for new recruits and Chris Hughton now looks set to raid the Gunners.

Forest opted to play Jordan Gabriel at right-back during Sunday’s game at Coventry. The Reds went down 2-1 and the manager is now seeking fresh options.

The right-back spent last season on loan with Cardiff. He spent the majority of the season either injured or out of favour, playing just nine times for the Bluebirds.

As a result, he’ll be keen to hit the ground running and it would appear as though Forest supporters would welcome this addition to their ranks.

Osei-Tutu spent the 2019/20 campaign plying his trade in the German second tier. He was on loan with Bochum and performed well, scoring five goals and claiming three assists.

His chances of first-team football at Arsenal look bleak and with that in mind, Mikel Arteta has sanctioned a move to the City Ground.

It is thought that a medical will take place today and an announcement could be pretty close.

The Reds fan base has been up in arms since Sunday’s opening day defeat at Coventry. Forest lost 2-1 in the final seconds of the game and that has stung the club’s supporters.

It will have also hit home to Hughton that his squad isn’t yet strong enough to compete. New players are needed the club must work tirelessly to get new players through the door.

Osei-Tutu seems like an exciting addition. He is young, quick and fits the criteria of a player who likes to get forward from a full-back position.
