Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-1 by Blackburn last night and the Reds fan base were left incensed by the performances of Ryan Yates and Jack Colback.
Boss Chris Hughton has named the same midfield pairing for Forest’s opening three games of the campaign. The Reds have been beaten 2-1 on each occasion.
Colback has earned a reprieve this year. He barely played last season but with a full pre-season under his belt, Hughton clearly fancies him.

In truth, he was the better of the two last night as Yates turned in arguably his worst performance since breaking into the first team.
Fans were vocal in their discontent. Prior to half-time, Yates gave the ball away three times in quick succession and the City Ground voiced their discontent.
Colback, although defensively sound, doesn’t break through the lines into the final third often enough. That in truth is a problem that both players have, making Forest ultra-defensive.
Something has to change, although boss Hughton implied afterwards, he doesn’t have the players to change his position. If that is the case, Forest need new recruits and fast!
Forest fans growing tired of Yates and Colback
With Cafu and young Tyrese Fornah in the squad, Hughton’s mention of a lack of options makes little sense.
Right now, Forest could benefit from having either of those two players in their team, with both holding a desire to step through the lines and into the final third.

Forest fans are tired of the insanity of sticking with the same thing and expecting different results when it comes to Yates and Colback.
After last night’s horror show they’ve taken to Twitter, with plenty wanting their pair taken out of the team for Saturday’s trip to Stoke. Here is what they had to say…
