Nottingham Forest have added James Garner to their ranks on a season-long loan from Manchester United. Following the announcement of the deal, some Red Devils have been discussing the City Ground switch.

It would seem as though some supporters aren’t overly chuffed that United have decided to send Garner back to Forest. Whilst some see it as a chance to play games, some would have preferred a Premier League switch.

Nonetheless, Forest have won the race and that provides a timely boost to Chris Hughton. The Reds are pointless after four league games and face Derby County next weekend at Pride Park.

Garner spent the second half of last season on loan at Forest. He scored four goals for the club, including one during a 1-1 draw against the Rams in February.

He also scored goals against Cardiff, QPR and Preston and he adhered himself to the club’s supporters during his time at the City Ground.

Garner has penned a new three-year contract at United prior to joining Forest for another loan. The Red Devils also hold a one-year option to extend that further.

What have United fans said about Garner joining Forest?

The consensus is very much divided. Whilst some are happy that he’s going to play lots of games, others would prefer him to be heading to the Premier League.

There are some supporters, however, who believe the loan at Forest will do him the world of good and is exactly what Garner needs.

Here is a look at a mixture of reactions from United supporters as Garner signs for Forest on loan until the end of the season.
