James Garner checked in at the City Ground yesterday to join Nottingham Forest for a second time. He arrived on loan after signing a new three-year contract with Manchester United. Following his latest loan switch, Philip Zinckernagel and Anthony Elanga reacted on Instagram.

The United prospect is a badly-needed addition to the Forest ranks. The Reds sit rock-bottom of the Championship after four games, with Chris Hughton’s men yet to register a single point.

That really won’t do but Garner’s arrival is certainly a timely one. He spent the second half of last season on loan at the City Ground, catching the eye with some impressive displays. He fired four goals for the club from 20 appearances

Forest’s midfielder is really imbalanced at the moment. Garner’s arrival will give Hughton a player who can link up the defence and attack. His forward-thinking style was a joy to behold last season and Forest supporters will relish seeing him in action.

What have Zinckernagel and Elanga said about Garner joining Forest?

The on-loan Watford man has been with the Reds all season. He scored as the Reds lost to Blackburn and also has three assists to his name in the Garibaldi.

He looks like being a good signing for the club and Zinckernagel will know Garner from his time spent playing for Watford last season.

Having those two on the same page would certainly be ideal and he has welcomed him with a short, two-word message on his latest Instagram post.

Elanga is a highly-rated United prospect, just like Garner. It has been claimed, however, that the Swedish player will be kept around Old Trafford during 2021/22.

He was also quick to wish Garner well following his latest move to the City Ground, with a short message of good luck to the midfielder.
