Finding positives is tough for Nottingham Forest right now, although in Fin Back one did emerge from the fourth successive defeat at Stoke City. The teenager started the game at right-back, with Jordan Gabriel suspended for the contest.

Back is the son of Rugby World Cup-winning star Neil and now it’s Fin who is busy making a name for himself at Forest.

At 18, the defender has been thrown in at the deep end. An injury to Jordi Osei-Tutu in Wednesday’s defeat to Blackburn saw him introduced for his league debut in the first half.

He coped well despite Blackburn providing him with a physical examination. On Saturday, he was also one of Forest’s better players, with supporters enjoying his performance.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Forest are short of full-backs. Gaetan Bong has been forced into playing left-back, despite being told he was surplus to requirements earlier this summer.

Now, problems have emerged on the opposite side. Although Gabriel will be available for the game against Derby, he’s yet to really showcase what he’s all about in a Forest shirt.

The club will hope that Osei-Tutu’s injury isn’t a bad one and that he might be able to return after the international break which is just around the corner.

What did Forest fans say about Back’s performance?

It’s fair to say plenty deemed the talented teenager as the only positive from another drab Forest performance.

Back did well in large and although Forest’s rearguard was breached in the second half, Back still came in for some praise.

It’s been a tough start to the campaign for the Reds. Saturday’s game with Derby looks like a huge one and Forest really can’t go into the international break on the back of five defeats on the spin.

Here is what supporters had to say about the performance of Back during Saturday’s defeat at Stoke City.
